Hans van Loon is a senior security strategist and program director with over 15 years of experience leading complex cybersecurity initiatives across public defense, critical infrastructure, and commercial financial sectors. Since early 2024, he has served as the Program Manager for the Netherlands Encryption Strategy within the Ministry of the Interior and Kingdom Relations, where he oversees national policy coordination, secure communications frameworks, and strategic cryptography standards.

Prior to his current ministry appointment, van den Berg built a diverse ten-year portfolio managing high-stakes security programs for prominent entities, including the Dutch Ministry of Defence, Damen Naval, critical national water infrastructure organizations, and the commercial banking sector. He began his cybersecurity career approximately 15 years ago, establishing his foundational expertise in technical research and incident response at the Netherlands Organisation for Applied Scientific Research (TNO) and the specialized cyber security firm Fox-IT.
