Viviani Lopez Rivera holds a bachelor’s degree in Biology (Biomedical Sciences) from the University of Puerto Rico in Aguadilla and a master’s degree in Public Health in Epidemiology from Ponce Health Sciences University. Her career began in 2019, spanning multiple areas of epidemiology, including syndromic, passive, and active surveillance systems, communicable disease intervention, injury epidemiology, and abstract reviews for the American Public Health Association's Public Health Film Festival. She currently serves as the Senior Epidemiologist for the Surveillance Component of the Commission for Suicide Prevention at the Puerto Rico Department of Health, working under a CDC-funded comprehensive suicide prevention grant. She is also pursuing a Doctor of Public Health (DrPH) degree at the Celia Scott Weatherhead School of Public Health at Tulane University.
