Neurodegenerative Diseases and Brain Aging

Neurodegenerative Diseases and Brain Aging:

Neurodegenerative diseases are among the leading causes of disability and mortality worldwide, with aging being the greatest risk factor for many neurological conditions. As life expectancy increases, understanding the mechanisms of brain aging has become a global healthcare priority.

This session explores the biological processes involved in neurodegeneration, including neuronal loss, protein aggregation, oxidative stress, mitochondrial dysfunction, and neuroinflammation. Experts will discuss diseases such as Alzheimer's disease, Parkinson's disease, Huntington's disease, and amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS).

Participants will gain insights into recent advances in neuroscience research, biomarker discovery, disease-modifying therapies, and preventive strategies aimed at promoting healthy brain aging and improving patient outcomes.
