Nicotine & Tobacco Dependence:

Nicotine addiction remains one of the leading causes of preventable death worldwide. This session will explore traditional tobacco use as well as emerging trends such as vaping and electronic nicotine delivery systems.

The health consequences of nicotine dependence, including cardiovascular disease, respiratory disorders, and cancer, will be discussed. The session will also examine behavioral and social factors that contribute to continued use.

Attendees will gain knowledge of effective cessation strategies, including behavioral interventions, pharmacotherapy, and public health campaigns. The importance of policy measures and education in reducing tobacco use will also be highlighted.
