Carbon Capture, Utilization and Storage (CCUS):

Carbon Capture, Utilization and Storage has emerged as a critical strategy for reducing greenhouse gas emissions while enabling industries to transition toward carbon neutrality. CCUS technologies capture carbon dioxide from industrial sources and either convert it into valuable products or store it safely underground. Catalysts play a crucial role in improving carbon conversion efficiency and creating commercially viable pathways for carbon utilization.

Current research explores catalytic carbon dioxide hydrogenation, mineralization processes, synthetic fuel production, and chemical feedstock generation using captured carbon. Advances in adsorption materials, catalytic reactors, membrane technologies, and integrated process design are enhancing the technical and economic performance of CCUS systems. Collaborative research between academia and industry is accelerating the commercialization of these promising technologies.

This session provides opportunities to discuss carbon capture technologies, catalytic utilization processes, storage solutions, environmental assessments, and policy frameworks. Participants will explore innovative approaches that contribute to climate change mitigation while creating new economic opportunities through carbon resource utilization.
