A 1977 graduate of Edinburgh Dental School with over 45 years in the field, David Gillam has a background in clinical practice, industry, and academia. Following roles at SmithKline Beecham, Block Drug Company, and as a Research Dentist (2003-2008), he served as a Clinical Reader in Translational Research at QMUL (2009-2022). Currently a part-time Professor at QMUL, his research focuses on periodontology, specifically dentine hypersensitivity management, and dental materials development. He has published over 100 papers and contributed to several books.
