Dr. Anke Diehl, M.D., M.A., is the Chief Transformation Officer and Head of the Digital Transformation Unit at the University Medicine Essen (UME). As a medical doctor with extensive clinical and scientific experience across neurology, psychiatry, neuroradiology, and radiology, she is responsible for implementing innovative projects as part of the smart hospital’s digital strategy. Dr. Diehl is the consortial leader of the leading-edge cluster for artificial intelligence in medicine, “Smart Hospital NRW”, and won the “Medical Woman of the Year 2021” award at the German Medical Awards. She is a member of the Digital Council of the National Chamber of Physicians and represents Germany's health IT users on the national expert panel, the "Interop Council".
