Dr. Micaela Seemann Monteiro is a senior Internal Medicine specialist and the Chief Medical Officer for Digital Transformation at CUF Hospitals e Clínicas, Portugal's largest private healthcare network, where she also acts as Clinical Director of CUF Digital. Her work focuses on designing hybrid patient journeys that integrate artificial intelligence and digital workflows with human clinical care. She previously served as the Director of the National TeleHealth Center and the National Health Service (NHS) contact center, SNS 24, within the Portuguese Ministry of Health, leading the design of the National Strategic Telehealth Plan. She graduated from Heinrich-Heine-Universität in Düsseldorf, trained across Germany, the UK, and Portugal, and holds a postgraduate degree in Information Management and Business Intelligence in Healthcare from NOVA IMS. Additionally, she serves as a digital health expert for the European Commission, EIT Health, and the World Health Organization's (WHO) expert roster.
