Dr. Stefan Swartling Peterson is a public health physician and the Professor of Global Transformation for Health at Karolinska Institutet. His extensive background includes serving as the Global Chief of Health for UNICEF in New York from 2016 to 2020 and co-founding the Swedish branch of Médecins Sans Frontières (Doctors Without Borders). For over two decades, his implementation science and health systems research has focused on child survival, maternal health, and healthcare quality management across East Africa, holding active side affiliations with Uppsala University and Makerere University in Uganda. Dr. Peterson earned his Medical Degree and PhD from Uppsala University, alongside a Master of Public Health (MPH) from Harvard University. His vision centers on building sustainable health frameworks that bridge global system transformations with optimal healthcare delivery.
