Lucien Engelen is a globally recognized healthcare innovation strategist and the Lead for A4I (Accelerator for Implementation and Impact) at Maastricht UMC+. In this capacity, he drives the deployment of responsible artificial intelligence, moving the academic medical center from localized clinical pilots toward embedding AI as sustainable institutional infrastructure. He is also the CEO of Transform. Health and brings more than three decades of experience at the intersection of technology, change management, and digital patient empowerment. He previously served as the founding director of the REshape Innovation Center at Radboud University Medical Center from 2007 to 2018, co-founded the National Health(care) Innovation School, and has held strategic innovation advisory roles at Erasmus MC and Laurentius Medical Center. Additionally, Engelen acts as a core healthcare faculty member at Singularity University in Silicon Valley and is an Edge Fellow at the Deloitte Center for the Edge.
