Prof. Peter De Jaeger is the Chief Innovation Officer and Director of IT & Data at AZ Delta, where he also leads RADar, the hospital’s specialized learning and innovation center. His professional expertise spans data governance, artificial intelligence integration, and the creation of secure data pipelines designed to embed data-driven insights into everyday clinical practice. Beyond his hospital leadership, he serves as a data science professor at Hasselt University and as an adjunct associate professor at University College Dublin. Under his direction, AZ Delta has spearheaded pioneering clinical AI projects—ranging from automated MRI data modeling to federated data networks—and has been recognized internationally with awards like the Google Healthcare & Life Sciences Customer Award. He holds a master's degree in electronic engineering and a PhD in engineering science from Ghent University.
