Dr. Anke Diehl, M.D., M.A., is chief transformation officer and head of the digital transformation unit at the University Medicine Essen (UME). As a medical doctor with clinical and scientific experience (neurology, psychiatry, neuroradiology and radiology), she is responsible for implementing innovative projects as part of the smart hospital’s digital strategy. Dr. Diehl is consortial leader of the leading edge cluster for artificial intelligence in medicine “SmartHospital.NRW“ and won the „Medical Woman of the Year 2021“ award (German Medical Awards). She is not only a member of the digital council of the National Chamber of Physicians, but represents Germany`s health IT users in our National expert panel “Interop Council”.
