Evis Sala is Minister of Health and Social Welfare of Albania, and holds a tenure as Professor of Radiology at Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore in Rome, Italy.
She is the author of over 300 publications in international journals, focusing on quantitative imaging methods for evaluation of spatial and temporal tumour heterogeneity with genomics, proteomics and metabolomics. She is leading multiple research projects focusing on the development and implementation of artificial intelligence methods for image reconstruction, segmentation, and data integration.
She holds several professional memberships, such as the European Society of Oncological Imaging (ESOI), European Society of Urogenital Radiology (ESUR), International Cancer Imaging Society (ICIS), European Society of Radiology (ESR) and Radiological Society of North America (RSNA). She is also ESUR’s President-Elect and an Appointed Expert of the Comprehensive Cancer Infrastructures for the European Union (CCI4EU). Her most valuable international awards were the Honorary Membership of RSNA in 2022 and the Honorary membership of the Japanese Society of Radiology in 2024.
