Dr. Anna Maria Bassi, Contract Professor at PhD Course of Experimental Medicine, University of Genoa, has a relevant background in promoting the 3R principles. She is co-founder of Italian Centro3R and received several awards, including the AnimaLAV Prize and the LUSH Prize. She is co-author of more than 70 research articles in SCI journals and attended at several international workshops as invited speaker. Recently her team is involved in setting up a 3D-in vitro human-based innovative millifluidic platform to identify key events underlying glaucoma pathogenesis and screen neuroprotective strategies, and implementing such platform with human retinal organoids, to investigate the early steps of the neurodegenerative cascade. These efforts underscore Dr. Bassi's commitment to advancing medical research while reducing reliance on animal testing.
