Integrative Oncology and Supportive Cancer Care

Integrative Oncology and Supportive Cancer Care:

Integrative oncology combines conventional cancer treatments with evidence-based complementary therapies to improve patient outcomes, manage treatment-related side effects, and enhance quality of life. Traditional medicine approaches such as herbal medicine, acupuncture, nutrition, yoga, meditation, and mind-body therapies are increasingly incorporated into comprehensive cancer care programs worldwide. These interventions aim to support patients physically, emotionally, and psychologically throughout their cancer journey.

Recent clinical research has demonstrated the benefits of integrative therapies in reducing chemotherapy-induced nausea, cancer-related fatigue, chronic pain, anxiety, depression, and sleep disturbances. Scientists continue to evaluate the safety, effectiveness, and biological mechanisms of complementary interventions through randomized clinical trials, systematic reviews, and translational research. Personalized supportive care models are helping improve patient satisfaction and overall treatment experiences.

This conference track will focus on multidisciplinary collaboration among oncologists, traditional medicine practitioners, researchers, nurses, psychologists, and rehabilitation specialists. Discussions will explore evidence-based integrative therapies, clinical guidelines, supportive care innovations, survivorship programs, and future directions in holistic cancer management.
