Patrick Martin, Professor at the University of Artois (Béthune, France) and Director of the Artois site of the Unit Transformations et Agroressources (ULR 7519) is expert in bio-based chemistry (extraction, characterization, formulation/modification). He is specialized in the conception of bio-based products starting from biomolecules and biopolymers as raw material by chemical pathways. His current research interests are in the field; glycochemistry and lipochemistry (surfactants, liquid crystals, biocontrol, biopesticides, drug targeting), secondary metabolites (anti-oxidants, dyes) and biomaterials (plastic, concrete).

Prof. Dr. Yarub Al-Douri is a Fellow of European Academy of Sciences. Al-Douri is winner of the prestigious Khalifa International Award for Date Palm and Agricultural Innovation 2024. He has initiated Nanotechnology Engineering MSc Program and Nano Computing Laboratory. He has received numerous accolades including winner of IAAM Scientist Award by International Association of Advanced Materials, Sweden 2022, World’s Top 2% Scientists by Stanford University, USA 2023, 2022, 2021 & 2020, World’s Top 2% Scientist Career-Long Citation Impact by Stanford University, USA 2020, OeAD Award, Austria 2020, Japan Society for the Promotion of Science (JSPS) Award 2019, Asian Universities Alliance (AUA) Award 2019, the total is 76 awards. Al-Douri is Associate Editor of Nano-Micro Letters (Q1,IF=31.6,Springer), Editor-in-Chief of Experimental and Theoretical NANOTECHNOLOGY, Editor-in-Chief of World Journal of Nano Science and Engineering. His research field focuses on nanotechnology, renewable energy, nanoelectronics, nanomaterials, modelling and simulation, semiconductors, optical studies. Finally, Al-Douri is a public figure at international media in the UK, Singapore, Malaysia, Qatar and UAE. Al-Douri has more than 880 publications including Citations < 13000, h-index = 62, i10-index = 249 and US$ 5.1M research grants. Finally, Al-Douri is one of the Middle-East, North of Africa, Malaysia and Southeast Asia’s most renowned scientists known for his contributions in Nanotechnology and renewable energy, and a public figure at international media in the UK, Singapore, Malaysia, Qatar and UAE.

Since2000, Yann ROGAUME set up a range of equipment and semi-industrial pilots at the University of Lorraine in Epinal which have made this unit, the best known French R/D center for “Thermochemical energy recovery from wood and wood waste”. The work with industry has led to the design and sizing of numerous reactors, for domestic and district heating applications, or for the production of syngas that can be used to produce methane, hydrogen, methanol or biofuels. He has also carried out numerous projects to reduce pollutant emissions from wood-fired heating, particularly in terms of particles.Currently, he is developing a gasification process to optimize hydrogen production, in order to convert biomass or wood waste into methane, methanol or SAF (Sustainable Aviation Fuels). The aim is to enhance the value of byproducts, waste or invasive plants, to support the development of wood industry, while reducing the pressure on the forest resource. This work is carried out in partnership with a company that markets the processes, and is funded by Europe, the French government and several global energy companies.

Guo Zhongsheng, Ph.D., Professor, Northwest A&F University. He put forward the limit theory of plant resource utilization, the carrying capacity theory of vegetation, the key period theory of plant resource relationship regulation and the new theory of soil and water conservation. This is the theoretical basis for achieving high-quality development of forest and grass, water and soil conservation, and high-quality production of farmland.
